NRP 73 Stakeholder engagement

Over the past few years, the interim and final results of NRP 73 have been presented in diverse ways and at various events. Here are the highlights:

• The results of NRP 73 were discussed with members of the Federal Assembly from all parties at a total of six meetings, and a position paper on the revision of the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) was submitted.
• In seven online workshops, the interim results of the thematic syntheses were examined together with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network SDSN Switzerland: SDSN Switzerland & NRP 73 Online Workshop Series.
• At six workshops as part of the NZZ Connect events, including the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF) 2019, Circular Economy Entrepreneurs CE2 2019, 2020 and 2021, as well as the Sustainable Switzerland Forum 2022 and 2023, we presented the findings of NRP 73 to a wide audience.
• At the Forum for Sustainable Development 2023, not only were participants able to take part in the simulation game “postfossilCities” but a lab was also organised on the topic of "Space-efficient living".
• At the FOEN Info Pick 2023, the key policy recommendations were presented to over 70 employees of the Federal Office for the Environment. 
• At the World Resources Forum, several workshops and panel discussions were held between 2017 and 2023. In 2023, these addressed the topics of “sufficiency” and “post-fossil cities”.
• A stand at a public fair at Zurich's main station provided an opportunity to present the final results of NRP 73 to a wide audience.

The reactions were consistently positive and the intermediate synthesis, as well as the final White Paper, were received with great interest.
