Twenty-three submissions in response to the second call for proposals

18.12.2018

The decision as to which projects will be funded will be made in spring 2019.

Out of 58 letters of intent, the Steering Committee invited 32 teams to submit a research proposal. Twenty-three proposals were ultimately submitted to the SNSF.
Approximately two thirds of the research proposals addressed the theme of “Sustainable consumption patterns” and one third the themes of “Legal framework for the transformation” or “Sustainability of the commodity trade”.

The participation of women applicants was just under 50 per cent, and almost 50 per cent of the proposals came from the universities of applied sciences.

The proposals will now be reviewed by national and international experts through a peer-review process. The proposals will subsequently be discussed by the Steering Committee and approved by the National Research Council. Given the CHF 1.6 million available, approximately 20 per cent of applications are likely to be approved.
