Knowledge transfer for a sustainable economy

Goals achieved and next steps
NRP 73 placed particular emphasis on transferring the knowledge gained from the research results of the 29 projects and six thematic syntheses/co-creation labs. As part of its knowledge and technology transfer concept, NRP 73 had the following objectives:
- Preparing and disseminating scientific knowledge to create a better understanding of the transition to a sustainable economy, in particular involving both the private and public sectors.
- Publicising the opportunities and challenges of a sustainable economy for the private sector, consumers, producers and the Swiss economy as a whole.
- Identifying possible incentives and the necessary policy instruments for decoupling high resource consumption from economic activities and prosperity.
- Presenting best-practice examples in various sectors/industries and/or individual companies, and promoting their adoption by other companies and sectors.
With these aims in mind, various measures were initiated and a number of different communication tools used. A web portal, regular newsletters, a series of podcasts, various videos, Policy/CEO Briefs, thematic syntheses and project summaries were produced to make the research results available to a broad audience. Particular emphasis was placed on authorities and policymakers, thus leading to the drafting of a White Paper with policy recommendations. Stakeholder engagement activities in the form of knowledge transfer events also helped us to achieve the goals. All the above content can be found in the web portal's media center.
NRP 73 aims to ensure that the visibility and content of the web portal are preserved in the longer term. Therefore, an audit of the web portal is now being carried out and possible next steps and potential partners are being analysed.
NRP 73's media work was successful, with numerous reports appearing in national and regional media. The creation of a closed LinkedIn group and the use of social media channels gave rise to further exchanges and knowledge transfer. Overall, NRP 73 achieved its knowledge transfer goals and succeeded in making the research results available to the general public
