Workshop ‘Construction & Housing’
16.09.2020
First results of the project “Co-Evolution of Business Strategies and Resource Policies in the Building Industry” show that the current low prices for gravel make the recycling of construction waste unattractive. Incentives are needed to make the recycling of demolition materials financially viable.
At the same time, the environmental footprint of housing has to be reduced. The project “Ecological footprint in the housing sector” recommends developing sustainable strategies for buildings that take into account both the strategies of the owners and the freedom of choice of the tenants.
The participants of the workshops favour incentivising house owners to adapt living and building strategies in order to reduce living space.
